Strange Lands is a cannabis company with dedication to its target customers: artists and musicians. Each strain is grown in small batches in Oakland, California. The founder wanted Strange Lands to stand out in the crowded landscape of minimalist, earthy and tech-like cannabis brands.
Surrealism and 1970s record covers
To create the Strange Lands identity, ALTR focused on the dissident and fringe visual history of marijuana as a mind-altering drug, drawing inspiration from microbes, psychedelic posters of the 1960’s and 70’s and surrealism. ALTR created everything from the ground up including the logo, illustrations, packaging, tone of voice and website. The result was a colorful world of mesmerizing shapes that is, indeed, quite strange.
